Hello natrual world
Well hello to all those naturals or those interested in being natural. Ive been doing alot of research since I decided to go natural, and I've decide I've been doing it all wrong. Apparently just discontinuing the use of relaxer isn't enough.
Let me start by saying I decided to go natural for a number of reasons. After seeing the movie Good Hair I was convinced perms could kill me however, I simply couldn't get away from them. This isn't the first time I've gone without perms I usually go a few months inbetween them, however this time I stretching it for a reason other than not feeling like doing it. I received my last perm August 1, 2010, and ever since when my hair gets thick I usually just wait and go what has averaged out to once a month to my cousin's shop and gotten a wash trim and blow out. My hair usually grows but after seeing all this info on heat damage and proper care, I instantly called her and told her I am no longer down with the blow outs and would stick to a trim and maybe a little time under the dryer.
I'm a long term transitioner, I'm not sure when I will make the BC (big chop). I want to wait till my natural hair has grown to a length I'm happy with. I haven't yet established a regimen in fact I've pretty much been neglecting my hair, (Not good I know), but the change is in effect now. So basically you will witness my transition for the "beginning".
So thanks for coming feel free to share your opinions and any advice that you have for me.. I hear not only to share what I experience but to seek guidance as well.
Welcome to Divinely Natural!
